The rural fire protection district shall pay to the city clerk, not later than the first day of each month, the sum of one hundred forty-three dollars and seventy-five cents ($143.75), as consideration for the housing, as aforesaid, of the equipment and apparatus of the rural fire protection district. This housing agreement shall renew itself monthly thereafter, without further action by the city or the district, unless either party shall file notice, in writing, with the other party, at least one year prior of its desire to cancel the same.
